Coloured Concrete
Colour all the way through — not painted on top.
We add oxide pigment directly to the mix so the colour runs through the full depth of the slab. That means chips and wear don’t reveal plain grey, and the finish ages gracefully in the coastal sun.
Often chosen with stencil concrete, stamped / patterned concrete, decorative concrete.

Coloured Concrete questions, answered
Will the colour fade?
Oxide pigments are UV-stable, and sealing protects the surface. Expect a gentle mellowing over many years rather than noticeable fading.
Will the colour be exactly like the sample?
Concrete is a natural material, so slight variation is normal. We batch each job from one supplier to keep colour consistent across the pour.
Is colour added through the mix or on the surface?
We use two methods. Integral oxide is mixed through the whole slab, so chips and wear show the same colour. Colour hardener is dusted onto the surface for stronger, more saturated tones.
Which colours handle the Queensland sun best?
Mid-tones such as sandstone, light grey and soft charcoal age most evenly. Very dark colours look dramatic but run hotter underfoot and show salt bloom and dust more.
Can coloured concrete be matched later for an extension?
We record the oxide brand, dosage and supplier for every job, so we can repeat the mix. New concrete always starts slightly brighter and settles over the first few months.
