Concrete Repairs questions, answered
Repair or replace — how do I know?
If the slab is mostly sound with localised damage, repair is usually best. If it’s widely cracked or sinking, replacement may be better value. We’ll tell you honestly.
Will the repair be noticeable?
We match finish and colour as closely as possible, but repairs on aged concrete can show slight differences. Resurfacing can unify the look.
What is concrete cancer?
Concrete cancer is steel reinforcement rusting inside the concrete. Rust takes up more space than steel, so it cracks and pops off the surface. It is common near the coast, and repairs mean cutting back to clean steel.
Can a sunken section of path or driveway be lifted?
Small sunken sections are usually cut out and replaced with a new section tied into the slabs either side. Large settled areas can point to a drainage or soil problem, which we check first.
Can repairs be done on a strata or body corporate property?
Yes. We work with strata managers on common-property driveways, paths and balconies. We provide written scopes and photos for committee approval.
