Grind & Seal Concrete

The polished look, for less.

Grind and seal is a lighter grind that reveals the slab’s character, finished with a clear topical sealer in matte, satin or gloss. It gives you much of the look of polished concrete at a lower cost — perfect for renovations, rentals, garages and alfresco areas.

Often chosen with polished concrete, honed concrete, epoxy concrete flooring.

Grind & Seal Concrete questions, answered

How long does grind and seal last?

Indoors, a quality sealer can last several years before a maintenance recoat. Outdoors, plan on resealing every 2–3 years.

Is it suitable for garages?

Yes. A solvent polyurethane sealer resists oil and tyre marks well and is easy to clean.

What is grind and seal concrete?

The slab is ground to remove the surface layer and expose fine sand or stone, then sealed with a topical sealer that gives a matte, satin or gloss look.

How is grind and seal different from polished concrete?

Grind and seal relies on the sealer for its sheen, so it costs less to install but needs resealing. Polished concrete gets its sheen from the concrete itself and lasts longer.

Can grind and seal be used outdoors?

Yes, with a UV-stable sealer and anti-slip additive. In full sun the sealer will need renewing more often than indoors.
