Patios & Alfresco Areas

More room for the barbecue. Less for the weeds.

Gold Coast living happens outdoors. We pour patios and alfresco areas that extend your living space — falls away from the house, edges finished cleanly to the lawn, and a surface that suits bare feet, outdoor furniture and the odd spilled drink.

Often chosen with pool surrounds, concrete extensions, decorative concrete.

Guide: How long does concrete take to cure?

Patios & Alfresco Areas questions, answered

Can you pour around an existing pergola?

Yes. We form carefully around existing posts and can add footings now for a pergola you plan to build later.

Which finish is best for an alfresco?

Honed and salt finishes are popular for covered alfresco areas; exposed aggregate suits open patios. We bring samples so you can see them in your light.

How do you stop rain running back towards the house?

Every patio is set with a fall away from the house. Where it meets a sliding door, we keep the surface below the door sill and add a grated drain if there isn’t enough fall.

Can a patio be poured level with my indoor floor?

Close to it. Building rules require a step-down or a drained threshold at external doors, so we design a small drop or a hidden strip drain to get a near-seamless transition.

Can lighting and power conduits go under a patio?

Yes, and it’s much easier before the pour. Your electrician lays conduit for lights, power or pergola heaters, and we pour over it.
