Concrete Foundations & Footings
What’s underground decides what lasts above it.
Footings carry every load from your building, deck, pergola or wall into the ground. We excavate, reinforce and pour strip, pad and pier footings to engineer’s specifications, with inspections booked before concrete goes in.
Often chosen with house slabs, concrete retaining walls, excavation & site preparation.

Concrete Foundations & Footings questions, answered
Can you do footings for decks and pergolas?
Yes. Small pad and pier footings for decks, pergolas and carports are a regular job for us.
What if you hit rock or poor ground?
We’ll stop and consult your engineer before going further. Any variation is explained and approved by you before it proceeds.
How deep do footings need to be?
The engineer sets the depth, based on soil type, loads and nearby trees or sewers. We dig to the specified depth, adjust for what the soil shows, and have it inspected before pouring.
What is the difference between strip and pad footings?
A strip footing is a continuous trench under walls. A pad footing is a single square base under a post or column. Bored piers go deeper where firm ground is a long way down.
Can footings be poured close to a sewer line?
Footings near sewer or stormwater pipes must go below the pipe’s zone of influence, and may need a build-over approval from the water authority. We locate the pipes before we dig.
