What affects the price

Every job is priced after a free site measure. Your fixed, itemised written quote shows each of these:

  1. Ramp length needed to reach a compliant gradient
  2. Landings, kerbs and handrail fixings
  3. Grooved or broom finish for grip
  4. Load rating for vehicle or boat ramps

Concrete Ramps questions, answered

Can you build a compliant access ramp?

Yes. We set out access ramps to the gradient, landing and width requirements you need and can work from an OT or builder’s specification.

Will a steep ramp be slippery?

We use a deep broom or grooved finish on steeper ramps so tyres and feet keep grip, even when wet.

What gradient should an access ramp be?

Wheelchair ramps under the Australian access standard AS 1428.1 are typically no steeper than 1 in 14, with landings at set intervals. We confirm the gradient and landing positions before forming.

Do ramps need handrails and kerbs?

Most compliant access ramps need handrails on both sides and kerb rails or edges so wheels can’t slip off. We form the ramp ready for your rail installer.

How do you stop a ramp being slippery in the rain?

We finish ramps with a coarse broom across the slope, or with grooves for steep vehicle ramps. An anti-slip sealer can add extra grip where needed.
