Spray-On Concrete questions, answered
Is spray-on as strong as new concrete?
It’s a surface coating, so its strength comes from the slab underneath. On sound concrete it’s durable for years with regular resealing.
Can it go over cracked concrete?
Minor cracks are repaired first. Moving or structural cracks may reflect through, so we’ll assess before recommending it.
What is spray-on concrete made of?
A polymer-modified cement coating, a few millimetres thick, sprayed over existing concrete. It bonds to the slab and is textured, coloured and sealed.
Can spray-on be applied to steps and pool edges?
Yes. The coating follows the shape of steps, bullnose edges and pool coping, which makes it popular for renewing entries and pool surrounds.
How do I maintain spray-on concrete?
Clean with a garden hose or low-pressure washer and reseal every two to three years. High-pressure tips held close can damage the coating.
