Flake Flooring

Garage floors that look like showrooms.

Flake flooring broadcasts coloured vinyl flakes into an epoxy base coat, then locks them in with a clear topcoat. The speckled finish hides dust and tyre marks, adds grip and stands up to daily wear — making it the most popular choice for home garages.

Often chosen with epoxy concrete flooring, garage slabs, grind & seal concrete.

Guide: Epoxy vs flake vs polished concrete garage floors

Flake Flooring questions, answered

Is flake flooring better than plain epoxy?

For garages, usually yes. The flakes add texture, hide dirt and make small scratches much less visible.

Can it go outdoors?

With a UV-stable topcoat, flake floors can be used on covered outdoor areas. Full-sun areas suit other finishes better.

What is a flake floor?

A flake floor is an epoxy base coat with coloured vinyl flakes scattered over it. A clear topcoat seals it, giving a textured, speckled finish that hides dirt.

How long does a flake floor last?

In a home garage, a properly prepared and top-coated flake floor lasts many years. The topcoat takes the wear and can be recoated if it dulls.

Do hot tyres lift flake flooring?

Hot-tyre pick-up happens when coatings are thin or the slab is poorly prepared. We grind the floor and use a polyaspartic or high-build topcoat to resist it.
